WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW INPUT FROM OUR MEMBERS!!

---
Trenten Haffley and John Kanta from the GFP will be at our next meeting to discuss the status of big game west river.

Lots of new bills this last week were dropped in the hopper and some big ones. 18 game and fish bills as of today....1-29-24.

SB  173   Landowner-on-own-land license for antlerless elk. Very vague and the commission will hammer out the details

HB  1180   Need legislative approval for GFP to purchase land

HB   1148   Need legislative approval to construct new campground or sites

SB 121   this about vacating section lines. I thinks this is a big one out east, I need to gather more info on this one.

There are bills to increase the fees on habitat stamps for Non-residents, bill to allow free hunting, fishing and camping for Tribal members, E-bikes on the Mickelson trail and more. We will go over the list quickly at our next meeting.

We do need to be concerned about the GFP commissions latest proposal. I do not have the facts on how this got proposed but in the notes before the meeting, non-res waterfowl licenses were slated for no change, however it was proposed to add 315 more non-resident tags during the meeting.  Last year they raised the number also after a majority of testimony against it. I guess we again go thru all the motions to not support it even if the GFP and commission will not hear us?
